A relative newcomer to the drum & bass scene, Steffi aka Something Something has gone from long time raver to DJ and producer, having drawn inspiration from the likes of Andy C’s legendary sets at his XOYO residency, as well as Fabric and Let it Roll festival. Her breakthrough as a DJ came when she won the DJ competition in Croatia at Hospitality on the Beach, beating almost 40 other DJ’s and winning her a very well received set on one festival’s biggest stages. Since then, she’s gone on to pick up a Best Newcomer nomination at the D&B Arena Awards in 2020 and has released her first solo release out on Shogun sister-label Elevate, as well as a number of collaborations gaining attention.

Following her recent rework on Mollie Collins’ Right Good Records, which saw her draw Kleu’s ‘Know You’ into her own spectrum of sound, we caught up with Something Something about the five artists she’s been watching over the past twelve months.

“Choosing only 5 is way too hard. There’s too many!”

Elipsa & Goddard – Gone Edit

Goddard is probably my favourite up and coming dnb producers at the moment… There’s not one song I don’t like… and Elipsa, I don’t have words for that voice.

Zeal – Ariel – Entel (Zeal Remix)

Zeal has been around for quite some time but doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. I fell in love with his tunes over lockdown and I urge people to go check him out.

Coastal – Here We Go

Coastal is fairly new to producing but his skills are off the charts. Been playing all those coastal dubs in all my live streams.

Mylen – Feels Like I Know You

Also very new to production, but he makes quality dancefloor! He’s definitely one to watch!

Euphonique – Shake It

Absolutely love her sets and she’s been smashing her production too. Good energy and god vibes. 10/10!

Athena – Next Door Reality

A really talented woman. She won the Shogun Mentorship which she absolutely deserved! I can see big things coming from her.
