Perfecting his craft over the last two years he was picked up by label head Ben Spalding who’s helped him on his journey, adding him to the eclectic and versatile offerings of HOT GROOVERS and his EP demonstrates why he is an asset to its roster. Whilst he brings the summer vibes for the forthcoming festival season throughout ‘Dreamer‘.
To celebrate the EP’s release on HOT GROOVERS, Olly Brown gave us a rundown of the tracks he’s been feeling this month. Check out his list below and be sure to grab a copy of the new EP here.
Netsky – Tomorrows Another Day VIP
I am a big fan of Netsky’s music, this was the first track I heard of his which had that distinctive wobble bass that gives the song so much energy. The first time I heard this live, it sounded unbelievable and I still listen to this track on a regular basis.
Fred V & Grafix – Long Distance
This tune still stands out for me as it has a really dreamy piano melody which works so nicely with the lead synth. I like the contrast in the track as well, it transitions nicely between sections – Overall just a really solid track.
Chase & Status – Mixed Emotions
There is so many Chase & Status songs I could put in here but this is my favourite off of their latest album ‘What Came Before’. The piano riff and the vocal work brilliantly together and creates so much emotion in the build ups – the track is just immense!
London Grammar – If You Wait (Calibre Alternate Remix)
The break in this track just gives me goosebumps and the piano just hits differently. The piano compliments the vocal nicely – It is just a pleasure to listen to.
Hocseat – Look At The Sun
One of my favourite tracks of 2023 so far – A tune that reminds me of the summer and just puts me in a good mood. Hocseat uses some nice vocal chops which he mixes up throughout the tune to keep it sounding fresh – On the whole, great track!
