If you haven’t already, you should really get to know about the House of Hifi. Based in Bournemouth and founded in 2017, they are a totally female-fronted artist management and events collective, represented by DJs AMA, KIRA, KYRO and Sheba Q.
Since 2020 hasn’t been a great year for events, HoH have launched a new initiative to continue producing content and to keep supporting newcomer and independent artists: CUE.
CUE is a brand new Soundcloud mix and podcast series that aims to give up and coming female and non-binary DJs, producers and creatives an open platform to showcase mixes, speak about their work or discuss other issues within the Jungle and Drum & Bass scene.
In their own words:
“As a brand we have always made it our objective to book DJs who have never performed in front of a crowd before.
With a lack of real life events currently occurring and with many ‘bedroom DJs’ and creatives not having a wide reaching platform to get their work out – we started CUE to offer those wanting to build up the confidence and test the waters a safe and free space to virtually perform and promote their work.
We want CUE to help up and coming womxn gain the confidence to branch out and hopefully network for bookings and other opportunities.”
You can check out the first instalment of CUE below which launched on the 13th September and comes in the form of a guest mix from KARA, who’s one of lockdown’s rising stars and a fierce DJ to boot.
If you’re interested in taking part you can apply for CUE here.
